What Others Are Saying allows you to display the most recent post of your favourite blogs somewhere on your site. It utilises the RSS link field from the blogroll for each of your links. If the RSS link exists it attempts to get the last post from it. It then displays the most recent X number of posts depending on your settings. Each blog can have one post in the list.

The plugin simply outputs the post and site name wrapped in a list item, so you would need to insert the above code into either an unordered or ordered list, and also give it a header. So that people don’t need to edit the plugin file to change their markup.

Technically Exec-PHP executes code inside of <?php ?> tags by just wrapping your whole text into ?> <?php tags and hand it over to the PHP eval() function. By that no parsing of your code needs to be done by the plugin itself. Although the plugin adds some security features, it is not recommended to use the plugin in WordPress installations with untrusted users.

With Exec-PHP you can execute PHP code in the excerpt and the content portion of your posts and pages (in the following called articles) as also as in text widgets. To execute code, just type in the PHP code as you usually would.

Google (XML) Sitemaps Generator plugin generates a XML-Sitemap compliant sitemap of your WordPress blog. This format is supported by Ask.com, Google, YAHOO and MSN Search.

Trackbacks are the messages displayed in the comments list whenever another blog links back to one of your posts. If you use trackbacks on your blog, it is best if they are not mixed with the comments. The comments are a conversation between between real people. Having machine-generated links in the middle of that will only serve to disrupt the conversations.

ProBlogDesign has shared a method that will lift out all of the trackbacks, and then display them as a numbered list after the list of comments is finished. Once you have this done, customizing the trackbacks to appear however you want them to is simple.

WP-Cache is an extremely efficient WordPress page caching system to make your site much faster and responsive. It works by caching Worpress pages and storing them in a static file for serving future requests directly from the file rather than loading and compiling the whole PHP code and then building the page from the database. WP-Cache allows to serve hundred of times more pages per second, and to reduce the response time from several tenths of seconds to less than a millisecond.

WP-Cache started from the “Staticize Reloaded” by matt and billzeller. Most of their recommendations also apply to WP-Cache. Current version, WP-Cache2, is a huge improvement over previous versions of WP-Cache.

Alexa let us view the traffic reach, rank and page views of up to 5 sites. Although Alexa is not very accurate in my opinion, it let us compare our traffic with other websites. So that we can estimate how we are doing relatively to others.

Today, we have got a new tool called Feed Compare which let us compare our FeedBurner Feeds Subscriber Numbers with others easily. Just simply type in the FeedBurner Feeds name, e.g. Mashable, or the URL of the FeedBurner Feeds (http://feeds.feedburner.com/BlogPerfume). And then press submit, Feed Compare will then shows the subscriber numbers of different sites on a lovely line chart.

AdSense-Deluxe is an easy-to-use plugin for WordPress 1.5+ (including WP 2.0) for quickly inserting Google or Yahoo! ads into your blog posts, and managing when and where those ads are displayed.
